Complex changes of circadian proteins expression in inflammatory bowel disease

Objectives and background Recently, a possible role of circadian system in the pathogenesis various gastrointestinal disorders gained an attention. Methods retrospective study provided semiquantitative immunohistochemical analysis expression 8 core proteins (BMAL1, BMAL2, PER1, PER2, PER3, CLOCK, NPAS2 TIMELESS) epithelial cells mucosa 24 patients Crohn's disease (CD) 26 ulcerative colitis (UC). Samples from without history IBD served as control. BMAL1 protein intramucosal was explored well.
